Summer Rain

As a child I remember a particular storm with a torrent of rain rushing down the street. It was an unusual rain as the skies were still pouring while the sun was peeking out. Clouds were mixed dark and light rolling across the skies. The water was gushing around the corner as I was up to my little knees in warm, bath-like water…a true delight on a very hot day.

With the hot and humid days we’ve had as of late, today’s rain is a welcome relief from the arid month of July. Storms have been flying by us but there has been little comfort from the heat and next to no precipitation for the ground. Today, I didn’t dance in the water. It was far more comforting to sit and watch. It was a day to relax and stare at the raindrops while listening to jazz in the background.

Hope you’re enjoying the change in climate!
