The Half-Way Point

It seems to many that the culmination of the summer festivities is the Fourth of July. To others it’s the family vacation. Then there’s the day-to-day activities in the summer heat that works for the rest of us: relaxing and playing in the summer’s warmth.

As the end of July approaches, it dawns on us that the sun is now setting earlier. The summer to-do-list-of-fun-in-the-sun is probably getting checked off slowly, but not complete yet. We can continue to meet the pleasures of the list, but don’t forget to enjoy those lovely moments that serendipitously cross our path: sunrises and sunsets, a new flavor of ice cream, a shooting star, a friendly wave from a neighbor in their car as they rush by on their errands. It’s these simple things that can fill in the gaps of a day’s plans. These fulfill our life in many ways…mostly by making us smile when we least expect it. J

Have a smile today!
