Indian Summer

Frost comes and goes
With autumn’s varying sun
Leaves in a flurry
With the crispy winds
Expose the hardiest souls
Lingering leaves and bursting berries
With bared branches arching upwards
With the songbirds singing their
Last serenade
As the birds of near winter
Chirp into the night
Preparing us for the
Next season to reason
The cycles of life to come
