The Frosty Moon

We have been blessed to have a reprieve in the weather from the early October snow. This, the 11th full moon of the year, may be hidden from us tonight by clouds and rain. There was a beautiful glimpse of it last night in one of the clearest skies ever. Before the frost moves in permanently, enjoy the days and this beautiful moon.

Full Beaver Moon – November
This was the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. Another interpretation suggests that the name Full Beaver Moon comes from the fact that the beavers are now actively preparing for winter.

It is sometimes also referred to as the Frosty Moon.

Also known to different peoples as Wine Moon, the Singing Moon, "Blue Corn Moon", and the Elk Call Moon, Frost Moon, Snow Moon
