Today I took down the Christmas tree and stashed the decorations
for another year. As I looked about the room, it felt empty. There’s a great
feeling to sitting at night, watching TV and basking in the glow of the tree
lights with a cup of tea. It’s special. It only happens once a year.
So many holidays and celebrations are like that. There’s often a
let-down after an event. Wouldn’t it be nice to make every day a celebration?
Immediately following our high school reunion I ran into two classmates while
shopping. What a pleasant surprise! It was like a continuation of the reunion.
Every email and get-together with SMFs is the same…a continuity of life and
friendship.
No one likes the hum-drum of everyday life. I don’t know anyone
who likes being bored. Wouldn’t it be nice to celebrate family every day? Whether
you’re still under one roof or staying in touch with family and extended
families while globetrotting, each email, photo, chat across cyber space should
be celebrated.
Celebrations don’t have to be grand as in lots of preparation.
Face it…we all need some down time to rejuvenate. The celebration is in the
personal exchange…kind words, good wishes, a card in the mail, a pat on the
back and the like. Everyone wants to be appreciated, included, well wished, and
connected in any and all ways. What a way to live. Celebrate life every day.
