As usual, ideas for the blog present themselves to me in due time.
Today while stopped at a red light, I saw a bumper sticker that read:
“In
a time of universal deceit, to speak the truth is a revolutionary act.”
Do not ask me the sponsor of this bumper sticker as
I couldn’t squint that long while waiting for the light to turn green! It reads
true though. Who would ever imagine that speaking the truth would be a radical
concept and action! Yet, the bumper sticker reads true as we have all
experienced lies at some time in our lives. Lies take longer according to Wikipedia. (See Detection, third
bulleted notation, footnote number 4.) Wikipedia also lists the types of lies…twenty-three
of them under Classification. Who knew they had categories!
The shortest distance between two points is speaking the truth. Truth
cannot be found in lies. The strings and webs get tangled, knotted, frayed and
unraveled. When this happens, you can’t unknot them.
When you cut the strings to the lies, you can become ‘human’ and
begin to grow up.
You must be truthful to yourself first. “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you
free.” John 8:32
